Terms of Use

This is the agreement between you and THEORIST LLC, the maker of Hushtrove, for using the app and this website. It's short on purpose.

The agreement

Hushtrove is made by THEORIST LLC ("we"). By installing or using Hushtrove, you agree to these terms. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app. Where these terms say more than Apple's, these terms apply.

If you don't agree with them, don't use the app.

The app

Hushtrove has no account. Everything you add is encrypted on your iPhone, with keys we never have. That's the point of the app, and it has a consequence: you're responsible for your passcode and your Recovery Key. If you lose both, nobody can open the vault, including us. We can't reset a passcode or recover a vault, because we hold nothing that could.

You get a license to use Hushtrove on iPhones you own or control, as Apple's agreement describes. The app and its code stay ours. What you put in your vault stays yours.

Free and Pro

The free vault holds up to 100 photos and 10 videos. Files, PDFs, scans and albums have no limit. Hushtrove Pro removes the photo and video limits and adds the extras listed in the app.

We may change what Pro includes as the app develops. We will never remove your access to what you've already stored: viewing, exporting and deleting always work, with or without Pro, including after a subscription ends.

Subscriptions

Pro Weekly and Pro Annual are auto-renewable subscriptions sold by Apple through the App Store. The price and the period are shown before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.

A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in iOS Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription.

Free trial

New subscribers get 7 days of Pro Annual free, once per Apple Account. Cancel before the trial ends and nothing is charged. If you don't cancel, the annual subscription starts when the trial ends and the annual price is charged to your Apple Account.

Lifetime

Hushtrove Pro (Lifetime) is a one-time purchase. It unlocks Pro on every iPhone signed in to your Apple Account for as long as Hushtrove is on the App Store, and it supports Family Sharing. It isn't a subscription and never renews.

Refunds and price changes

Apple handles payments, so Apple handles refunds: ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds ourselves, because we never receive your payment.

If a subscription price rises, Apple tells you in advance. For some increases Apple asks you to agree to the new price; if you don't, the subscription ends at the close of the current period.

Your responsibilities

• Use Hushtrove lawfully. Don't store or share anything that's illegal where you are.
• Don't try to open, copy or tamper with a vault that isn't yours, and don't try to defeat the app's protections on someone else's iPhone.
• Back up what matters to you. Keep your Recovery Key somewhere safe, and turn on iCloud backup or export copies of anything you can't afford to lose.
• Keep your iPhone and your passcode secure. Anyone who has both can open the vault.

No warranty and limitation of liability

Hushtrove is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don't promise that it will be error-free or always available.

To the extent the law allows, THEORIST LLC isn't liable for lost data, including vaults that can't be opened because the passcode and the Recovery Key are lost, for what Apple, iOS or iCloud do, or for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything arising from the app is limited to what you paid for Pro in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, and nothing takes away rights you have as a consumer.

Changes

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters, we'll also say so in the app's release notes. Using Hushtrove after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
